Texas Justice Initiative

SITUATION
Texas Justice Initiative (TJI) collects, analyzes, publishes and provides oversight for criminal justice data throughout Texas. TJI believes that good data leads to greater accountability and smarter policy reform. The executive director was looking for consistent and cohesive support for this agency as it grows its reputation among media, advocates, policy makers and law enforcement.

STRATEGY
Bergan Casey provides communications and organizational support including creation of digital products (website, eblasts, presentations, reports), social media, outreach to industry groups, legislative materials, board materials, and executive mentoring.

RESULTS
TJI continues to increase its website traffic, newsletters subscriptions, social media followers, media and public requests for information, legislative connections and reputation management. Since TJI is a start-up nonprofit, Bergan is also helping the organization build capacity through strategic planning and fundraising.
Bergan is an experienced professional who ensures we are communicating consistently and in an impactful manner. She also keeps one eye firmly focused on the future, providing guidance to get us where we need to go. With her help, our data reaches a larger audience and has the potential to make an enormous impact on criminal justice in Texas.
